Humanium has been created in 2008 and has written, since then, a beautiful success story. We have built intensive relations with our local partner Hand in Hand in India and together we work with a common objective of alleviating poverty through an integrated approach with a particular focus on women and children .

Now, an interesting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fundraiser with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience.

The successful candidate shall help us intensify and promote our fundraising activities via deepening donor relations and partnership building. We hope that the Senior Fundraiser can implement an engagement strategy for public and private sources of funding for us, with a focus on midscale and major donors, foundations, corporations and governments.

The successful candidate should be energetic and open hearted on his mission to represent India’s poorest in Europe, but mainly in Switzerland.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Generate increased income from existing donors
• Identify and research potential funding opportunities
• Develop proposals/pre presentations/post presentations/negotiations for projects that could attract new fundings
• Establish links with other voluntary and statutory bodies
• Assist the various pillars in developing a fundraising strategy
• Identify and prioritise project/service funding requirements, in the short, medium and long term
• Undertake other duties as required to ensure the proper functioning of the team
• Organizing site visits to get a better understanding of the various pillar activities
• Present case studies/write-ups in consultation with the project directors in India
• Coordination with the communication department in India in getting brochures and other credentials
• Interfacing with the media for brand building, profile-raising events, participation in awards and rewards
• Set, monitor and achieve realistic income and expenditure targets
• Generate sufficient funding sources to meet or exceed set goals

Overall coordination, planning and guidance

• Provide vision and innovation to the development of Humanium’s fundraising strategy
• Provide advice and recommendations regarding Humanium’s communication
• Ensure strong coordination with our partner Hand in Hand on fundraising for the programs

Ensure and implement an effective stewardship

• Follow up / document communication
• Donor reports

Key Competencies

• Marketing or fundraising qualification preferred
• Existing fundraising network within Switzerland essential; within France or Germany an advantage
• Experience of managing projects with multiple contributors and complex requirements
• Experience and success in the research, preparation and delivery of applications and tenders to both existing and potential funders in Switzerland, France, Germany and/or EU
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good persuasion and negotiating skills, with the ability to motivate others
• A commitment to the work you are fundraising for
• Fluency in written and spoken French and English essential; German is highly desirable
• Awareness and sensitivity working with other cultures
• Ability to travel for maximum 2-6 weeks within the 6-months term.
